Such a wonderful book, I really couldn't put it down. Great characters and story woven between England and Afghanistan. Really fell in love with book. recommend highly
Good story for adults or older children- very easy to read. I admit I'm a bit prejudiced since I love English Springer Spaniels and this Spaniel is a hero war dog. Worth the read since Shadow saved soldiers and a civilian family. Bravo Shadow!!
my 11 year old read this in school and insisted I read it as soon as possible, good story and a quick read (read in a day). I have since mailed the book to my 13 year old niece to read as well.

Really enjoy reading Mr. Morpurgo's books.
My 89 year old mother read the book in one sitting. Started it when she went to her room at 9 and stayed up until 1 pm reading. Found it very interesting. Grand daughter (one of the people it was purchased for) is about a third of the way through. She told me how far she had gotten. I will start it as soon as I finish the book I am reading. Then we can talk about it.
Wow, my son and I are both reading this book. We can't put it down. We got it for him when he requested it. He is 10 years old and loves to read on his own, but he wants to share this story with me. It has brought us to coming together and sharing with one another. I must read!!!
I read this book prior to giving it to my 9 yr old grandson to read. I thought it was excellent and a must read for all young children.
