Although I am not a magical practitioner, I enjoy reading about the various approaches to daily living and the positive attitude that we can do much more than "endure" our environment and circumstances.More than once I have become introspective because of ideas presented in this little volume.
I have been purchasing the Magical Almanac every year for over twenty years. The astrological information is invaluable to me in practicing my Earth based spirituality. I also enjoy the eclectic articles that are included.
In my humble opinion; this is one of the better books I have read on the philosophy and practice behind wicca/paganism in the last 50 years. If you're looking for a Wicca 101 book and a regurgitation of the works of Gardner and Leek, this is not the one for you. If you want something that will help you to better define who you are as a gay man within the pagan community; this is definitely one to take a look at. High Marks!
Can't ever fail with LLewellyn. I have used one of these almanacs for about 10 straight years. The extras in it are useful, and keeping track of the moon signs and phases is just another beginning. For me this is indespensible and always will be.
My wife gets one of these every year at Yule, but this year she was having some issues finding one that wasn't going to cose an arm and a leg. I decided to look here and I managed to get this one at a great price. She had her alamanac for the holidays.
I love these almanacs and cannot imagine taking on a new year without their calendar. I love the articles in this edition especially, because they all correlate to the four elements - all very interesting and informative!
