I waited a very long time for this book to come out, as I am a fan of the SLDF forces. Not so much the SLDF itself, or games in this Era, but of units with ties back to it. If that is your reason for this book you will be disapointed. Too much of it "does not connect", as it predates the actual SLDF being formed. More product tie ins should have existed.While it is about 20 degrees off the bow from the previous SLDF heavy books, it is a well written work. You just will not find a clear "chain" to your favorite House and Merc units in most cases.It did present a handful of "new" designs, but not really a variety from each house. I would presume that material is being saved for a future date in another Techmanual - like the stuff that was slipped into the back of 3075 or 3085 (don't remember which).The maps were good, but they were islands in a sea of text. Overall it felt "too wordy" and "too black and white" to attract most gamers attention. A lot of the Jihad style of clips/mini stories were inserted - which might not have helped. There is too much of an illusion of that breaking up text in the same way graphics do.A lot of this books long term value will be how future materials handle/re-do oe simply tie into the TRO: 2750 and the Star League Handbook from the 80's.

The Reunification War book may very well be my favourite source book of them all. Rules for WMDs (all NBC weapons), mobs, and a number of other things. An interesting look into not only the Reunification War itself, but the creation of the SLDF and the preparations it would need for its first trial. The portraits of the various important figures of this time period convey amazing amounts of character, similar to the ones in War of Reaving. It's $20 for a 400 page book stuffed with great fluff about the SLDF, the Periphery, and the Inner Sphere before the Amaris Civil War. If you love Battletech, why haven't you bought this book yet?HEGEMONY STRONG

The Battletech Sourcebook: Historical Reunification War was an interesting and fun read overall. It provided lots of backround information and new vehicle, Mech and Warship designs.However, the sourcebook had to major shortcomings that for me, decreased the enjoyment factor dramatically.These were, first the lack of color artwork, to which all Battletech fans have become accostumed to in both the Jihad Sourcebooks and House Handbooks.And secondly, the large number of spelling and grammatical errors, these included simple transpositional errors like "teh" instead of "the", and spelling the same name two different ways!This could have been a great book, even without color artwork, but the spelling errors ruined the experience for me.

Having purchased this right after finishing Historical: Operation Klondike this book was somewhat of a let down. The good points are that it talks about an era almost untouched by the novels and other sourcebooks. It was really great to see more of the periphery nations and what happened to them. The problems stem from its density and disconnect. Since not much as been written about the Reunification War they jammed this book with information but at the expense of sidebars and art. Have several pages in a row of names of Generals and their bios is fine but then having no pictures of them or even physical discriptions does not help someone wanting to play the game in this setting(look to Op Klondike on how to do bios right). Overall it was very text heavy, lacking in fluff, and dense (similar to the 1st Ed. House source books but even more so).

Super detailed book on all things Reunification War era. Everything from force compositions to detailed tactical philosophies of the various military leaders involved. Love it!

I have been collecting Battletech books for many years and it amazes me how the standards continue to decline. Not only are there spelling errors but no attempt at creating any depth in the Battletech universe for this often overlooked time period. The best Battletech sourcebooks were done in the late 80s under FASA and it has been a sad decline ever since. No effort, no artwork worth a damn, boring and rote battle tales and a HANDFULL of schematics for Mechs, vehicles and ships at the very back. Very disappointing!! The Battletech universe has no movie or TV show affiliation so all we have to draw from are the sourcebooks and even that is half- a$$ed. Battletech is a good storyline and as a fan of the Asimoz Foundation series (which contain many parallels, IMO) this genre deserves BETTER!

A well thought out retelling of an important period in the Battletech universe. Purchase this product if you have any interest in some of the history of the early Star League.

As a Source book, this is one of the best that has been produced since the Operation Klondike book. For anyone who likes the history and flair of gaming in the past, this is your book.

Great range if hikes for different levels of experience.

Love it!

Excellent photographs and factual information about America"s classic and historical trails.

I had a short time to spend in the backcountry and needed some succinct guidance for choosing the best trail for my time and experience levels. The 100 Hikes guide filled the bill - got me from Reno to the Sand Ridge Trail. The trail guide and map was way ahead of the material I picked up at the Forest Service Ranger station and I had a great two nights on trails that were just right for the equipment I had with me. Well written, guide from guys who've obviously been there on the ground. I'd even buy the book someday if the library copy is checked out next time I'm heading for northern California. This book is nothing short of excellent. It is in the top three of my favorite little treasures that I have ever gotten my hands on. Page by page, positive affirmations are composed that manifest healing, health, prosperity, happiness, positivity and so forth. Every single time I open this book when I need a little inspiration, I always feel happy and full of light. This book was made to be so warm, and you can feel the love poured into this book. It’s small enough to take along with you throughout your travels, and makes one feel hopeful and joyful in times of despair. It is definitely worth purchasing and I appreciate it so much. I’m currently teaching the “healing” page to a child with autism, we are learning about the concepts presented within the book together, and SHE appreciates this book as well. Allowing these affirmations to just wash over you and bring you to a positive thinking process thats aligned with your true spirit is how I make the most out of my new found treasure.

She has been around forever and I discovered her five years ago after I had cancer. A therapist recommended I get some of her books and cds to help me through everything. They are a breath of fresh air. The way she puts things really helps you deal with things and see them from a much more positive viewpoint. I currently have about four of her books and 4 cds in my car. I have also given it out as gifts to friends getting divorced or going through a rough time in life. She will change your life and speak to your soul.

I very much enjoyed this book. I liked the format of the book. Ms Hay provides a one sentence meditation on a page, with a one or two paragraph explanation or instruction on the next page. Her spiritual viewpoint, that has no religious bias, is all-inclusive, refreshing, inspiring and insightful.Although there were a few meditations that I did not agree with, overall I received much benefit from these thoughts and positive perspectives. Everyone would benefit from this book whether or not their life needs healing.

This book contains short affirmations and may disappoint someone who was expecting more in the way of content. However, if you are looking for quick affirmations and don't have the time or desire for more extensive reading, then the book should be satisfying to you.

I thought this book would actually contain some guided meditations to help heal your life. What you get is daily affirmations written from the perspective of the author.I will use it for positive affirmations for my yoga classes, as they are easily relatable and have a good message. But as far as personal use- I’ve found a couple pages that I’ll use to engage people on Social Media (hence 3 stars instead of 2)Not what I expected. But I’ll make the most out of it.

Louise Hay is committed to helping humanity reach their dreams of good health, good financial backing, and all the other good in life that we can think of. She found that positive affirmations changed the brain and it's pathways which in turn, changed our lives for the better. I heartily recommend her "Meditations To Heal Your Life"!

I have a small used copy off Amazon and I love the teachings of this book. My day doesn't feel jumpstarted until I've read the day's affirmations and have taken a few minutes to soak it in. I'll randomly flip to a page and it's exactly what I needed to hear for that day. I highly recommend this book if you love Louise Hay's books!

I purchased this because I have experience with other versions of the Adobe 'Classroom in a Book' products and have found them to be consistently well put together and concise. I decided to buy the digital copy because it is cheaper and my desk space is limited. It's much easier to do the lessons here with a window open on the computer rather than flipping back and forth between the hardcopy and the computer.I neglected to check how and where or even if I could download the support DVD with lesson material and video instruction. It does come with the physical book. I just expected that someone would send me a link to the download. This did not happen. I looked in the book as far as the first lesson, but again no links. I double checked this Amazon page and again came up with a blank. So I called Amazon for support. After speaking with several tiers of CS no one was able to help, but they did offer to refund my purchase. This was good news. I elected to wait and see if I could get an answer from Adobe Press the next day (this was after business hours).On the off chance that I had missed something in the book I decided to check the appendix inside the book and that is where I found the link. So be aware that the link to this necessary part of the book is not very well documented but it does exist.

It's been a while since I got this book but I wanted to go back and catch all the orders I missed reviewing in the past.Let me start by saying, this is a great reference for a beginner or an intermediate learner of Adobe Flash.I found this to be an excellent source of information in teaching myself Flash (I've known Photoshop at an intermediate level since before wanting to learn Flash, however I thought it was time to add Flash into my skills as well.) This book teaches you great concepts for the program and comes with a CDROM as well. It really is a classroom in a book and I still reference it for some things when I pull up Flash to work on a project.

I didn't enjoy learning from the book because there was the problem of redundancy. The book had the main copy, then gray boxes with "tips" which were basically pulled from the copy. The problem with this was, the book should was practically all tips and I felt that I was reading the same page twice. If it's really going to be a "tip", it shouldn't be from the main copy.In addition, it could have had more screenshots for the actionscript chapter. It's a hard enough subject to learn, it would be better if they took more time to be more thorough.I purchased this book for a Flash class because it was required. Otherwise, I probably would not have bought it.

Not much I can say here that hasn't already been said, but this book is GREAT.I had some flash experience (flash 4) but had forgotten most of it, and came back to it with this book.It gives you step by step instructions, examples and tutorials to really get you good with flash. Plus there are plenty of pictures and guides to see if everything looks right.It could go more in depth on some subjects like games, and there is more advanced actionscript you'd need to learn to become really proficient but this book definitely delivers on it's promise.A solid book that I learned a lot from.

I purchased this product along with the Actionscript 3.0 Classroom in a book as I needed to learn Flash CS5 quickly so that I could use it to create an interactive application required for a university assignment.This book gave gave a great introduction to Flash CS5, allowing me to become familiar with the Flash environment and many of its features fast enough so that I still had plenty of time left to complete my assignment. I found that the examples were clear, easy to follow and interesting enough to engage me for hours at a time without becoming boring.My advice for people that are considering purchasing this product, would be to also purchase the Actionscript 3.0 classroom in a book. The reason for this is because this product is lacking several things which I considered important but were mentioned in the Actionscript 3.0 book (simple things like adding scroll bars to a textbox springs to mind).My only other criticism of this book is that upon opening the pouch in the back of the book to use the CD I noticed that the disc was badly scratched. Inserting it into my laptop confirmed that it was scratched so bad that it could not be read!Due to living in Australia and having a tight time frame to work within as a result of my assignment, sending the whole book back just to get a replacement CD was not on the cards, so I had to find a copy of the exercise files online.I subtracted one star due to the annoyance caused by the scratched disc, this would be a 5 star text otherwise.

I am new to Flash and had to master it's animation techniques for a website production in a very short amount of time. This is one of five manuals I purchased to try and boot camp myself into at least a proficiency in Flash. I found this book to be the clearest, most easily understood text out of the five. I worked through the book from start to finish and also completed the "Missing Manual CD" downloads that came with the book. The author is careful to describe fully the procedures he wants the student to follow and creates an environment where the student can examine and appreciate the power and options that are inherent in Flash. The exercises took me from very basic to advanced techniques, and I appreciated the author's humorous tone which kept the material interesting.

I needed to get up and running quickly in Flash so that I could create the interactive animations for the production of Monty Python's SPAMALOT I directed in Simi Valley in the Spring of 2013. The book took me step-by-step through small projects that allowed me to build on my skills. Then, I was able to go back and look up the items that I needed for my project. Highly recommended if you have a Flash project you need to get up and running quickly.

As an ex-pat, I was thrilled to see the whole radio series of Dad's Army, alongside Steptoe & Son, finally released in the US, and as an added bonus was able to get it for free as part of signing up for Audible.Here's where I get put off a little. The episodes are broken down into chapters, which is fine because at least I can go to a specific show, except that there are no titles for the chapters. Don't get me wrong, it's miles better than the iTunes version because the whole third series is in two parts at about 6.5 hours each. On top of that, the bit rate on iTunes is 32 Kbps, half the quality of the Amazon version, which still isn't great, but at least you don't get that tinny sound. The other problem is that although you can transfer to iTunes, the bit rate is still too low to post on iCloud, so you can't just stream the shows, you have to download. If you wanted this to play back on your iPhone, it'll cost you 353 MB of precious storage space.
