This was my introduction to lovingkindness and meditation, and I was absolutely thrilled with this book! I believe that if you read this book with an open mind and really listen, you will find that you can experience "real love" with the world around you. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone feeling depressed, unloved, unhappy, disconnected, and the like. This book brings real hope that we can have fulfilling experiences and relationships with the world around us by first cultivating the capacity for love within us.The practices in this book cultivate positivity, healing, love, and a sense of wholeness with the universe, which is tremendously powerful. Sharon also used plenty of real world examples and has a down-to-earth style, which makes so if this much less daunting to beginners like me! I plan on buying Sharon's other books, including a print copy of this book as a gift for someone, continuing my studies of lovingkindness and meditation, and seeking supportive communities as mentioned in this book.

I wish I could like this book more than I do. It's a rehash of "loving kindness" meditation techniques. Other Buddhist writers have done a better job of covering the material.

I bought the book on Amazon and I love it. It is filled with a lot of insight and wisdom, but the information is very accessible. I was able to attend a retreat based on the book in July in Seattle which was a great adjunct to the book.

This is a wonderful book. One can read it and use it immediately to live in the moment for your whole life.

Sharon's book Real Love is a very important addition to the vast (and growing) mindfulness literature. Her accessible, compassionate voice helps reads take mindfulness practice "off the cushion" and into the daily life of relationship (with others and ourselves). In a time of division and separation as we're seeing play out on the world stage right now, it is so important to take in the heart-teachings of someone like Sharon and learn how to bring down the barriers to real love. Wonderful book: absolutely worth reading it and then re-reading it! We can never do enough loving-kindness practice.

This book came to me at a time where I really needed to hear it and actually could take it in. So much written here is simple and has been said in other ways before but for me that just made it feel familiar, like wearing your favorite sweater. Like remembering what I know to be true. Loved it. Truly.

Sharon is a master at describing, in layman terms, how the science and practice of developing the skills to love can be brought to the world. I'm enjoy motor sports and participate in autocross and track days. I follow F1 not compulsively but I enjoy good racing. The authors, as intimately involved as they were in the sport, should have been able to produce an exciting and interesting book. Had the first third of the book been as boring as the last two thirds they would not have gotten two stars. I finished about three quarters of the book and got fed up with the redundancy. I came away from the book feeling it was a slap-dash effort to capitalize on the author's names and not a serious exploration of the nature of F1.

For F1 fans who'd like to know more about Ross Brawn and his amazing string of winning seasons this book offers much of interest and humanizes a person who, at least to this fan, has seemed an Arch Druid of the sport. Of less interest to me are the endless pages of theorizing by the co-author about the nuts and bolts of policy and decision making although it may be fascinating to some. All in all it's pretty entertaining for the dedicated F1 crazy.

I was surprised Mr. Brawn is unfamiliar with concepts like Six Sigma, a whole science around continuous process improvement used widely in the manufacturing space. He describes this as something me came up with on his own, along with starting the design and engineering of next year's car during the current season, as though these are processes he came up with on his own. These are both important processes that are well known and have been used by many other teams in the F1 world, so while Mr. Brawn has been very successful and has, obviously, applied these and other approaches to great effect, I found the tone of the book pretty self-serving and so, annoying. Still, the book is well written and interesting, and provides a lot of insight to the operation of Beneton, Ferrari, Honda and Brawn GP/Mercedes F1 teams during Mr. Brawn's tenure.

Not what I expected. Lots of discussion of strategy of F1 in general and within teams but almost no technical engineering information. I found the format of the two principals having a discussion to be frustrating as well. Not a great read. Steve Matchett's books are much better

Fantastic book. It's written like an interview between Parr and Brawn. Parr states in the introduction that he kept the dialogue raw, which seems to be true. That can make some parts a little slow to read, but it adds to the overall feeling of the book. Brawn reflects on his career and lessons learned. Brawn and Parr discuss the strategy that Brawn employed which led him to so much success in racing. He is never boastful, tempering what he says with humility. He often points out that luck and hard work have contributed more to his success then innate ability has.It's not an academic book by any means, but I considered it to be a case study of sorts. As a racing fan and a student of leadership (I have a Master's of Arts in Leadership), I find this personally and professionally valuable.

If you're looking for the inside scoop on F1, this book will give you some of those details, but much of it is about Brawn's management Philosophy. It started a little slow but I feel after reading it I understand what made Ross successful at Ferrari & Brawn and also why he was squeezed out at Mercedes. Well worth the read.

Well worth reading, but don't expect revelations. The book is an extended interview with Ross Brawn by Adam Parr, which makes it a good read but not necessarily a very good book. Parr apparently wanted the book to appeal to non-race fans, presenting it in part as a management book with a few spices from "The Art of War," which really doesn't contribute much worthwhile.At the same time, listening to Ross reminisce about his glorious career is very interesting and his management techniques (conventional as they are), are a key part of that.Would you like to know what happened at Mercedes? You'll get only hints and nothing specific. It was Toto and Nicki and Bernie and maybe Ross not performing to his previous level, but there, that's about it. Not getting specific will make it easier for Ross to re-enter the game in his new role as Managing Director of the Sporting side, but it keeps the juicy stuff in the cupboard.

Significant insight into F1 for the devoted enthusiast. However, the text appears to be a transcript of a recorded interview. Also book is padded with musings on ancient military strategy. The poor writing and padding had me skipping pages

I have two books that I really love to use with clients when teaching about 'what is normal' when considering women's bodies, and particularly when discussing sexuality and vulvas, and this is one of them.For teaching, education, or your own knowledge of what is 'normal' for womens vulvas, Femalia , as well as The Yoni book, The Yoni: Sacred Symbol of Female Creative Power offer realistic representations of vulvas. The Yoni book in general is a positive, woman honoring elucidation of the female form and includes art, sculpture and natural formations that represent or resemble a woman's vulva as well. I really like the Yoni book for it's 'pro' woman, reverential perspective.However, for a book that is great for teaching and solely features realistic, color photographs of vulva's Femalia is the best choice. Femalia has full color images, one per page, and most have pubic hair, some are pierced, and women of all different skin colors are included.Personally, I think all mothers with daughters, (as well as anyone working with women and teens) should have them both. Openly discussing variances and allowing girls/teens to see what is normal will help them to have more realistic concepts of women's bodies (as well as helping girls to have a more positive self image as they grow up).

What a wonderful book! it's small but powerful, I think it would be a great addition for anyone's library and to help teach young women about their bodies. I loved that these pictures were of women who were NOT sexually stimulated. Also, that many of them were natural. I'm shocked when I hear a women and she doesn't know what her vagina looks like. Sad. What's that saying, "The more you know....knowledge is power.Excellent book!

I really enjoyed watching it, I have only glanced through it the first time, but it was exiting to see different colors, shapes, piercings. As a woman I have never gotten to see that many vulvas.It is really enjoyable and I like it that is non threatening, not pornography, it is what it is, and I feel that is very needed and refreshing. Female genitals are not outside, straightforward like males, so, you never really get to see it even if you are in a room full of naked women, Femalia is a good tool to know more about yourself and if you don't know anything, it will be a good tool to start knowing something!

This book provides an educational resource, showing in frank detail pages and pages of "portraits" of the female vulva (the external female genitalia). It's beautifully photographed by a number of local photographers, including Michael Rosen. I've used this book to teach my male (and some female) clients about the vulva and it's incredible diversity of shapes, sizes, and colors. It's "one of a kind."

What's here is good... and exactly what I expected... but there's a lot less of it than I thought I'd remembered. I'd first seen the book (or one like it with the same name? seems unlikely) about five years ago at a woman's workshop.I was expecting a book about 4x as thick as this one was, expecting to see a lot more variety. (I'm an artist; I was needing some visual assistance for a couple of paintings for an erotic art show.) Still, it was helpful.

I bought this book but the conditions are terrible, damaged. completely disappointed.

I am a pelvic health physical therapist and I have this book in my treatment room. Patients will page through it if they are waiting for me and I've found that it helps a lot of women feel better about their own bodies. It's a great book demonstrating how different normal can look and it helps instill confidence in a lot of my patients.

From reading the description I had much higher hopes for this "coffee" table book.

I got this as part of our Legal Writing curriculum and it is a great reference to use when citing cases correctly and when you are writing for any legal application and you have to cite sources. There are also many other useful references to help you navigate the legal books, articles and more.

I had to purchase this book for my class. I did not care for it and it was NOT easy to read. I did not even end up needing it and I could not sell it for anything when class was over. It just wasn't worth it when the other books contained more information than this book. I personally do not recommend.

It was a little difficult to understand at first but with the help of my professor slowly made meaning. Overall is a good book to have as a reference if you're in the legal field or even for personal use if you are going solo to the court. I think it would be good if the author does an upgrade and add some color to it, but in all is a good book.

The most significant (and usable) alternative to the ubiquitous (and torturous) Bluebook. The California Yellow Book presents a citation style that is considerably more user friendly (it closely resembles the style used in the old Lawyers Co-op Publishing Company). If you are not absolutely required to use the Bluebook, I heartily recommend this. Not thrilled with the layout. It also looks like things were often just copied from other sources, instead of typing in an actual example. Too bad CA doesn't follow other states. A hassle.

I needed this book for my law classes and it has proved to be very helpful. It is a reference book that would be applicable only to California Case research as some of the material may not be applicable to other states. However, if you are having trouble learning how to do citations then this may be of assistance to you. It is certainly less wordy than some of the other books in the same subject matter.
