Ths book is an excellent read whether you are seriously considering life on the road or not. This book may help you decide if full-time RVing or even extended trips in an RV is right for you. The authors are candid about rewards, challenges, and their experiences while full time RVing. If you are financially able to stay in higher end places as the authors did, you could follow their trail. If your budget is more restrictive or you own a smaller RV or alternative, this book provides excellent information and tips for you to consider before you embark on your adventuresd. This book is also an excellent read for curious people -- after reading the library copy, I bought a copy to read and re-read for entertainment as much as for learning.

Awesome book. It would get 5 stars but some of it like prices on RV's are obviously outdated but I love the adventure stories in the book and the learning experiences from those that have went before us! That part hasn't changed. I even bought my sister a copy of the book. We both plan to Rv full-time, her sooner than me as she has no kids at home. I had five, 3 gone and 2 to go!! I am getting very excited about the many adventures I will have.

I lived on the road in a small RV for 2 years and found this book full of good/useful info.

This book was enjoyable for those who have not yet moved on to this lifestyle. However it could have used a little more "how to" and a little less of their previously published newsletters and blog. Could do with some updating.

Great book! Very insightful from personal experiences. Some of the info is dated as technology connection issues have changed in the last decade. But the authors have us thinking about this new option for our next season of life. :)

WELL. First of all. I am 17. I'm a junior in high school. I KNOW.I took the ACT using this book as my only prep work. No tutors. No classes. I learned this stuff BY MESELF!!! XD!! And I really appreciated it! The writers recognize that standardized testing doesn't measure how intelligent you are, but rather how well you can take the test. This book gives you tricks to outsmart the ACT, while also learning the material in a solid fashion.I assume it did its job, considering I got a 35.

For my daughter . She said most of what was on the test was in this book . Great buy!

This book really gives you a ton of practice tests and practice questions and explains how to do every single one and teaches ways on how to use time management and ways to prepare. this book was a life saver !

I don't even really know where to start with this one. I will say this. Any author that can branch out from her normal genre of romance and write something like this and make it work, well not only make it work but make it one of her best written novels, says tremendous things about them. This book says so much about Hoover's talent and brilliance as a writer. Cue all the new readers!Guys, I won't lie. I got truly creeped out at times with this one. The way this book was written truly brought out a side of Hoover I never thought possible. I don't know how many times I asked myself if she was possessed while writing this one.The POV of this book was interesting. I thought going in you would see things from Verity's POV but like most of this book my theory was thrown out the window as soon as I started. But it worked. It was beyond fascinating seeing Verity from the POV we did and written any other way I don't think this book would have been what it is and that would have been disappointing.Throw all your theories out the window right now. At times some things were predictable but the plot twists and that ending came out of nowhere and in such a delectable way. Just sit back and be prepared for your heart to race and your mind to run with possibilities.Bravo Hoover. I only hope we get to see more of this side of you in the future.

Well, well, well... Mrs. Hoover is taking a dive into the dark side. I cannot say I am disappointed. If you follow my reviews, you know I prefer the dark and twisted books. They are my happy place.I had no clue what this book was about when I started it. I rarely read a book's synopsis, but I never read them for Hoover's books. Judging by the cover, I assumed it was going to be a darker story, I just didn't have a clue of what I was getting into.This haunting, disturbing tale left me feeling bereft. Of what, I am not sure. I just felt unsettled. A little unsure of my own sanity. And maybe a little unsettled over Hoover's sanity too.This book is not a typical book for Colleen. The characters and their actions are nothing like she has written before. For her to have switched gears in such a dramatic way, and yet still get inside these characters heads in such a realistic way shows just how talented of a writer she is. Not that we didn't already know that. This book just further proves it.I always say not every book is for every person. Not all of Colleen's books have been for me. However, this one definitely was. And it may not be one for everyone who is a devoted fan of hers. Just know that there is not one bit of unicorns or rainbows in this book.

I don't know how to write a review for this book. I'm underwhelmed and feeling blank.I have never liked one of this author's books, sappy romance isn't my thing, so I haven't read anything by her in years. But when I saw Tarryn Fisher had promoted it and called it dark and twisty, I was exited. I enjoy a dark and twisty book, but I like smart books. Hitchcock is a favorite of mine.This is not quite that. And leaving the ending open, felt rushed.Sort of like she got down to the wire, and didn't have time to finish it. Or she wrote the book without knowing what the ending would be.I know she has a large fan club who always leave her glowing reviews, but if you are looking for a review from someone who loves this specific genre and doesn't leave fan reviews, read the Sugar and Spice review. It's a very honest three star review. I had seen it, I discounted it. I wish I hadn't. I'm finished the book and left with a meh taste in my mouth. Underwhelmed for the cost. I might have paid 0.99 for the book had I listened to the three star and less reviews. But I paid full price and it just wasn't worth it. I had to force myself to finish after the halfway mark.Great idea for a novel, but maybe better written by someone who enjoys the genre more. I hate to say stay in your lane to anyone, but clearly she has a large crowd of adoring fans for a reason. Perhaps romance is better for her.

I might be alone in this review, but I really disliked this book. I found no redeeming quality to the characters. It generally pissed me off. Such a disappointment because I’m a big Colleen fan. I started Verity as soon as it arrived on my kindle, and now, at two in the morning, I feel more awake than I did when I started it.In this moment, I can still feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins. It's an uneasy yet empowering feeling that I'm not sure I have ever felt after reading a book. But Verity had this way of trapping every ounce of my brain as I was reading. I completely forgot about the world around me as I got lost in the mystery and suspense of this novel. I felt as if I had become these characters, but I could no longer trust even myself. Because everything I thought I knew about this story would always come back to prove me wrong.As someone who absolutely loves the suspense/thriller genre, I can tell you that Colleen Hoover did an amazing job writing Verity. She may be a romance author, but she proved with this novel that she can write any genre and make it great. Because Verity still had that awesome CoHo style that we all know and love. It still had Colleen's amazing fluid writing style with her unique and enticing storyline. It's just that Verity happened to be a little more (or rather, a lot more) dark and twisted than her other novels.So don't be afraid to give Verity a chance. It may not be your typical Colleen Hoover book, but it is just as amazing as her other novels. Just be prepared to spend your entire day (or night) reading this book, because if there is one thing I can promise you, it's that you will not want to put it down.

This rabbi is a master of our generation, and this book is a funny and compelling collection of his sermons. I highly recommend it.

Rabbi Lawrence Kushner, a reform rabbi and author of more than a dozen and a half informative easy to read books, has collected close to fifty short, frequently very humorous observations written during his more than several decades of service as a concerned rabbi. Rabbi Kushner includes serious messages within the humor. He divides his observations into six sections: rabbi, Judaism, family, world, mysticism, and holiness. In the first section, for example, he discusses his view of the responsibilities of a rabbi. Readers will find him making statements such as: "Rabbis should treat Jews more like rabbis. Jews should treat rabbis more like Jews." "The more you rehearse anything, the more deadly it becomes. Besides, people make just as many gaffes anyway." In his Judaism section, Kushner speaks about conversion. "I converted a man (who was already married to a Jew) whose last name was Fitzpatrick. `But Rabbi,' he said, "Fitzpatrick isn't a Jewish name." I said, "It will be." In regard to another man who was married to a Jewish woman, he asked if the man wanted to convert. He responded, "Yes." The rabbi asked him why he hadn't done it before. He answered, "Nobody asked me to do it." One of the most hilarious chapters is in this section. He speaks about taking names at random from the white pages of the phone book, and sending these non-Jews a letter. It begins: Shalom!We the board of directors of the Congregation Emanu-El at our last meeting unanimously selected you (and your entire nuclear family) to become Jews-by-surprise.No matter how ridiculous you consider this decision, there are already tens of thousands of born Jews who know and do less than you do. Even if you are an avowed anti-Semite, relax, there are already many Jews like you, too....The letter goes on to describe the responsibilities of these new Jews. It contains humor as well as sharp criticisms of Jews. Kushner finishes his book with reflections on Thornton Wilder's great play Our Town. He recalls how one of the characters has died and asks if it is possible to go back in time and see oneself. She is told that it is possible, but not to do so, because it is too painful. She rejects the advice and goes back to view her twelfth birthday. She sees how her family is ignoring the possibilities of life and not really enjoying life. Her family is not living as if they will die someday. Kushner advises us not to live this way. This is his message after being a rabbi for so long, after seeing so much, after hearing so many tales of wasted lives lived wrong.

Featuring spectacular color photos, many shots using a large-format IMAX camera modified for light weight and the harsh conditions encountered on the world's highest mountain, this work stems from a project to bring Everest to IMAX theaters in 1998. While preparing for the final assault on Everest's peak, members of the international expedition participated in the rescue of the climbers trapped by the fatal blizzard of May 1996, which killed eight. The story of survivor Beck Weather adds poignancy to the project, but it is the photos and broader scope that set this work apart from other recent works focusing on the tragedy (e.g., Jon Krakauer's Into Thin Air, LJ 4/1/97). Coburn, who worked in Nepal with the Peace Corps for 15 years and has written widely on the area, offers thorough descriptions of the entire Everest experience, including the geology of the region and Nepalese culture and religion. National Geographic has put together another epic of a book, receiving a rare five stars from this reviewer team. Supported by outstanding color photographs and an array of writings by numerous writers, this is a valued item to keep.Everest is also a good resource for relevant maps, history, and an interesting discussion of the Sherpa people. Without the Sherpa support, Everest would still be a mountain of mystery.Typical of the majority of Everest material, this book focuses on the South Face, virtually ignoring the popular North Face routes and climbers.

This coffee table book is a good compilation of many of the facets of the Everest story. It leaves one wanting more, so you have to get books like The Ghosts of Everest and Detectives on Everest for the Mallory and Irvine aspect. It has interesting 'side-bar' pages which deal with the Sheerpa culture/people and their particular high altitude physiology, etc. It leaves the high altitude physiology and pathology wanting for the person who has some medical experience but is accurate on the basics. One of the most interesting ones asks, "Should Everest Be Guided?" Some details aside, and being at least an Andean climber from back in the 1970's, before there were 'toilet paper trails' to follow, I think that if one is to be guided then the guide company shoould vet the candidate with climbs on other mountains of comparable conditions before they are allowed to get anywhere near Everest or any of the other 8,000 meter peaks! I bought several copies for friend gifts including non-climbers so that they at least have an idea of the incredible history of Everest which this book aptly explains. It is a good introduction for the person following the current climb of Everest by members of the Montana State University, the Mayo Clinic, and other sponsor/participants to study the geology, climate, human physiology and adaptation both of white Amer-European and local sherpa people)etc. See [...] for more on this on-going, right now - spring 2012 - expedition. It also details some of the 1996 Everest tradegy allowing one to wonder why in the hell did those people go up there under those conditions under the political-social-economic conditions that they did? Which again prompts one to buy more books on Everest's incredible volume of tales!

I first read about the 1996 Everest tragedy in Jon Krakauer's "Into Thin Air" and have read other climber's takes on the events leading up the tragedy. This book is about the IMAX team, their preparations and motivations for climbing and filming Mt. Everest that year. There are stunning photos of the mountain, but the main draw for me was the behind-the-scenes stories involving climbers on the IMAX team. I have much admiration for their selfless actions during the 1996 Everest tragedy. You won't be able to put the book down!

For someone who's lucky they can climb a step ladder, I've somehow managed to become mesmerized by the entire mountaineering experience -- a community I never even knew existed until I re-read "Into Thin Air" and then promptly dove into another three dozen or so books on the topic. This is such a spectacularly gorgeous part of the world, and there are so many books, films, YouTube videos, etc., out there, even armchair adventurers can enjoy it -- not the same as actually being there, but it's something. And not as cold.

This is a large book with spectacular photography and gripping accounts of man against mountain. I reviewed the book through my library and found it so appealing I bought a copy through Amazon. For those of us with no desire to attempt scaling the world's highest peaks there is plenty of basic information regarding the art of climbing but for me at least it was all about the stories of those that do attempt these monsters. A book you can go back over many times.

I wish there were more photos, especially of the most notable landmarks via the South Col route. Considering how difficult it would be to haul a 48lbs IMAX camera up there, and set up the best shots, it is certainly understandable why more photos were not taken for inclusion in this book. However, I do not feel this book deserves 5 stars, without the addition of many more high resolution, color photos.

Much better than the Imax movie itself, compelling images interspersed with informative commentary and history from a number of writers.Compared to Everest: Summit of Achievement this is a lightweight introduction. Yes, you will want to own this and read it more than once. Yes, it's better than the Imax Everest movie (not saying much). Unfortunately this book shares some of the superficial qualities the Imax movie had. The editors would have done well to drive their razor-sharp crampons a bit more forcefully into their subject matter, if you catch my drift...

Dinah Shelton, Emeritus Manatt/Ahn Professor in International Law, George Washington University Law SchoolProfessor Dinah Shelton was the inaugural holder of the Manatt/Ahn Professorship in International Law at the George Washington University Law School, where she has taught since 2004.
